Some places have a way of staying with you. Maybe it’s the air—still touched by the nearby salt mines of Turda. Or the gentle lines of the Durgău Hills, where the vineyard stretches over 42 hectares, following the sun with quiet confidence. At La Salina Winery, the vines grow patiently, and so do we.

It all started when two wine lovers looked at these forgotten hills and saw more than potential: they saw legacy. They brought back the vineyard, terrace by terrace, with vision and care. What followed was a revival rooted in history, shaped by modern technology, and guided by patience. After decades of silence, the land came back to life. Today, the vineyard holds the geographical indication “Transylvania Hills” and sits just steps away from one of the oldest viticultural areas in Europe, once thriving under Roman rule.

Right in the middle of the vineyard, the winery rises gracefully. It’s not here to impress, but to guide the grapes without rushing them. Named after the Roman name of nearby Turda, Potaissa, our ISSA Collection gathers just about 300,000 bottles of wine made here each year, each one of them shaped with intention, well balanced for all tastes.

Visiting the vineyard at ISSA Estate is not just about tasting wine. It is about unwinding. Letting the view unfold, the wine settle in, and the story take its time. There is no need to hurry. And maybe that is what makes it unforgettable.
