The Waiter is responsible for providing attentive, professional, and personalized table service to guests across ISSA Resort's dining venues. The role requires strong product knowledge, excellent guest interaction skills, and a genuine commitment to hospitality excellence.
Responsabilities
Guest Service
● Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables;
● Present menus and provide detailed information about dishes, beverages, and daily specials;
● Take accurate food and beverage orders, noting allergies and special requests;
● Recommend dishes, wines, and pairings based on guest preferences;
● Serve food and beverages following proper service etiquette and sequence;
● Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests throughout the meal;
Table & Service Operations
● Set up and prepare tables according to service standards for each venue and event;
● Maintain cleanliness and proper presentation of tables, service stations, and dining areas;
● Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery;
● Process payments accurately using the POS system;
Product Knowledge & Upselling
● Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the full food and beverage menu, including seasonal and event-specific
offerings;
● Suggest additional items, upgrades, and pairings to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue;
Health, Safety & Compliance
● Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times
● Comply with responsible alcohol service regulations, including age verification;
Requirements
Education and Experience
● High school diploma required; hospitality education is an advantage;
● Minimum 1 year of experience as a waiter/server, preferably in a hotel, resort, or high-end restaurant;
● Experience with fine dining or a la carte service standards is a strong advantage;
Language Skills
● Romanian – native or fluent;
● English – intermediate to advanced level (written and spoken);
● A third international language is considered an advantage;
Skills
● Strong knowledge of food, beverage, and service etiquette;
● Excellent communication and guest interaction skills;
● Basic knowledge of POS systems;
● Ability to work efficiently under pressure during high-volume service;
● Attention to detail and commitment to quality and cleanliness.
